Dr. Murphy received his M.D. from the University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine in Chicago in 1989. He completed orthopaedic training in 1994 at the Northwest Detroit Combined Orthopaedic Residency. Prior to joining Potomac Valley Orthopaedic Associates in 2007, he practiced General Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Lake County Indiana from 1994-2007, both as a solo practitioner and as a member of the Hammond Clinic in Munster, Indiana. He has extensive experience in joint Arthroplasty, Arthroscopic procedures and Trauma Surgery. He received his Board Certification in 1997 and was recertified in 2006.
