Mohit Bhatnagar, M.D.

Dr. Mohit Bhatnagar completed his B.A./M.D. in 7 years at Johns Hopkins Undergrad and School of Medicine. During his medical training he received the Watson Fellowship to study Traditional Indian and Tibetan medicine in Asia for one year. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and fellowship in Spine Surgery with Dr. John Kostuik, a world-renowned spine surgeon.

Dr. Bhatnagar has traveled and worked extensively abroad including: Cambodian refugee camps; on the warfront/border of Afghanistan; in China, Tibet and India; as well as in Butan as the sole orthopaedic surgeon for a period of time. He has volunteered at the Baltimore Zoo, operating on leopards, eagles and other exotic animals. He was instrumental in developing and popularizing new minimally invasive approaches to the spine for performing Vertebroplasty, as well as laparoscopic and thoracoscopic surgery.

He continues to travel and teach abroad, teaching at universities in Korea, Spain, Brazil and across the U.S. Dr. Bhatnagar has published extensively, and routinely presents abstracts at major scientific meetings in the U.S. and abroad. He maintains a busy practice with Potomac Valley Orthopaedics with a focus on spine related problems.
